RB 3" dp or HKS 3" dp

well my TII needs a downpipe. i called corksport,rx7fashion etc. the only one i found in stock was racing beat 3" dp for the complete system which WON'T bolt up to the main cat. if i got that i would have to take it to a muffler shop like NJFC3S did and get a custom 3" mp made. other option is get the HKS 3" dp and take down my main cat and bring it to the muffler shop to have them make a new midpipe with the same dimensions. why can't anything be easy

I bought the RB one cause the guy at RX7Fashion was being an *** and said I need to do a group buy to get a downpipe. My midpipe cost $75 to be made, since it needs a bend in it to bolt to the catback. If you have the money to run 3'' all the way back, I'd get the RB one for sure.

Corksport just started making exhaust stuff, check them out.

Why not try 3 inch custom all the way back to cat back?

This is my DP/MP. It's not the most beautiful thing in the world, but it's very straight, flows well, and had a good price.

Awesome. I'm ordering this next week. How's the volume level over stock? How much did it raise your boost? With what mods?

So This DP/MP will connect to where the outlet of the stock cat and the cat-back were? Edit: Easy Bolt on Installation?

My boost fluctuates alot, due to lack of boost controller and crappy stock wastegate. As it is, boost is dependent on engine load. I make ~7psi through first gear, and as much as 1.1 bar (~16 psi), in later gears. As of right now my car is parked. My A/F ratios are dangerous, and my boost is un-controllable. I'm pulling the turbo off tomarrow, and porting the wastegate, as well as intalling a boost controller for more consistant boost.

Keep in mind you may not see boost like this. It is largly determined by the flow of the intake, the condition of your turbo, and the ambient temp. There is also the chance that my wastegate actuator is not properly functioning, but I will test that when I pull the turbo off. I believe it's functioning fine, though because the boost settles down towards the end of the gear.

So This DP/MP will connect to where the outlet of the stock cat and the cat-back were? Edit: Easy Bolt on Installation?
It connects to the turbo flange where any downpipe will connect, and runs to the catback where any midpipe will connect (i.e. dp/mp ). Yes it is an easy bolt in installation, but it is also time consuming. As with any exhaust work getting the old stuff off is usually much more of a PITA, than installing the fresh stuff. This job took my about 4-5 hours of prying, wriggling, and slicing myself on heat shields. Once the old precat is off, the rest is cake.

On the subject of pipe sizes. Is it worth it to have a 3" DP if you are still going to have a cat (ie. bonez high flow cat), or do its effects get nullified by a cat so i should only get a 2.5"?

Btw, what you guys think of the bonez cat?

I took my 91 N/A vert to a local muffler shop and he chopped my pre-cat/cat and custom bent and fitted in some 2.5" piping for me. It only cost me $45, including both the piping and labor. Much easier than me trying to rip off the heatshields, and cutting the crap out of my hands.
I would suggest this to all of you guys, as well.
