Rattle from pas side speaker tower

I've got a rattle when I turn the music up to an audible level (audible with my rusted exhaust, no shift boots, windows down, roof open, etc). It's coming from the passenger speaker tower (yes, I know the strut tower is there too, but the speaker bit extends well above the strut tower). I can't seem to isolate it so I can't get rid of it. Does anyone have any suggestions. I know its not the speaker, 'cause I just replaced the speakers, and as soon as I pull the speaker off, the rattle goes away (still plugged in and pumping tunes). The drivers side is fine, but it is rather annoying.

its either a blown woofer or a ground problem, run a ground to chasis if that don't work get a new speaker.

dude, i had this problem, if you look at that little plastic screen, on the strut tower, you know the one that covers the speaker. there is a little peice of like paper stuff, RIP IT OUT! i though my speakers were blown, but it was just that suff all loose in there.

could also be a loost strut top. dont rule that out... if you take all that **** off you can get a wrench ont he top and give it a push and may fix it ... put a dab of loc tite if it goes away, cuz you can only snuggle that nut untill the strut piston starts moving.

Removed speaker grills to accomodate new speakers, new speakers and wires so its not grounding, and the speaker isn't the problem. Removed the spare long ago (with AAA, who needs a spare). I'll try the strut top this weekend. Thanks guys.
