Aww crap, my sending unit is shot too. Me and rust don't mix very well. Let's hope i dont blow myself up beating on those screws.

One very bad thing about banging on the gas tank is that you take a very big risk on dislodging crud and rust into the gasoline.&nbsp If you have no idea on the condition of the inside of your gas tank, this might clog the in-tank filter!&nbsp Clogging the filter can cause lean conditions at the engine!

I think you would have to empty the tank and drop it then clean it.
