My radio randomly shut off while driving the other day (its an aftermarket radio) and the dome lights as well. Not the one that turns on when you open the doors(its never worked since getting the car) but the ones you press to turn on. Checked the fuses but cant find a blown fuse. Not sure whats going on but could really use some help and advice if anyone has had this problem. Thanks, Michael - 91 rx7

 

The radio is a mystery, no telling how that was installed, but the dome lights (both the "door open" and the map lights) run through the 7.5a ROOM fuse.
If that fuse is good and you have +12v at the lamp assembly, you have a bad ground.

 

Have you taken the radio out since it happened? did you install it? ive had the wires on the radio come loose after a few bumps on the road shutting my radio off. It can be something as simple as that.
