Radiators

I really did search, but there are 10 pages of threads with "radiator", there really should be something in the archives about performance radiators.

Here its, last night in an act of stupidity I nocked my standard Koyo off the wall onto the edge of my vice. Its not terrible, but its more than cosmetic damage.

There are a couple of options:

(keeping the cluch fan will not be possible with the FD waterpump assembly, so its not a consideration)

Get it fixed yes aluminum radiators can be fixed I had a bike radiator fixed 5 years ago that had rock damage. Still holding just fine when I sold the Bike. Cost $30

Replace with another Koyo standard or Nflow (cost 300-400)

replace with another bolt in performance radiator fluidyne etc (300-500+)

Replace with a non bolt in like an afco or summit. This is the option I really need help considering. How big will fit, my battery is relocated to the back, and I can weld aluminum and steel, and bend and fabricate parts.

Second is there a model/brand that is a good value and works well?

Where to buy it from?

Thanks

If getting it repaired is cheap and holds well, why go any of the other routes?

I might well do that but I want to explore the options.

I've got a Fluidyne and I'm very pleased with it.

Since you've already got the Koyo, I'd say try repairing it first.

My race car has a generic Griffin (Griffith?). It is as wide as the space between the frame rails. The height is the same as the distance from the top of the stock radiator to just short of the sway bar (it's really tight). I have a pair of J shaped metal strips countersunk and bolted to the stock mounting holes and a tab bolted to the hole that used to mount the intake duct.

It has an exhaust pipe and rubber hose bends to run the coolant from the thermostat housing across to the opposite side of the radiator and it has the old plastic Y broken off the stock radiator to allow the heater core water back into the bottom of the radiator.

Is all that fabricating work worth $100 - $200 difference of getting a drop in replacement? I don't know but it works well even if it doesn't look quite as clean.
