Question Rad hose question....

Does anyone know the diameter of the coolant return line hose comming from the engine to the bottom of the rad?...

i'm going to install the temp. sensor adapter for my water temp. guage and was wondering so i can install the appropriate sensor adapter....

Coolant flows from the engine to the radiator via the top hose, not the bottom one. And temp gauge senders should go before (i.e. under) the thermostat, not after it.

so i would have to install the temp. sensor to the one at the bottom of the rad?...

what size diameter is the hose i need to install it in?...

No, that's the cool hose. A reading there is pointless. You must read the temp before it enters the radiator.

Measure the OD of the plastic pipes on the radiator. That'll give you the hose ID.

Personally I wouldn't put a sensor in either hose, but it is the easy way I guess...

my rad has metal end tanks so that wont work....

since the upper rad hose is, from what i measured, just under 2inches i cant find myself finding an adapter that large....
