racing beat suspension package inquiery?

alright here is the question. i have a set of tockico blues and was looking at the racing beat suspension package as a good match, this car will be daily driven and used for a autox/track day/hill-climb and just a dailty thrasher. I dont mind a harsh ride and was looking at RS*R track springs but, there availibility makes it a little difficult and i think they may be a little much for the tockico blues. Plus there availibility sucks so i went back to my original idea and was wondeing what the oppinion of the racing beat suspension package was for track days and hillclimbs? is it way to soft and understeer too much (i prefer neutral handling), i have heard that setup understeers and was wondering if anybody has tried the convertible setup on a coupe and if it is more neutral? also the car this will be going on is will be a striped out s4 NA?

I run the full Racing Beat pkg, springs, bars, & end links.... w/ Tokico Blues on my s4 NA...

Yes, its stiffer than stock... you wont want go bo bounding over railroad tracks, & manhole covers can be painful. But, to me, it doesnt feel like it understeers at all, but, I havent autocrossed. Just country roads & off/on ramps. In those instances, I backed off before I felt the car did.

I have the same setup, except I have the coupe RBs on my Vert. This is a good setup for a DD. I dont find it to be to stiff however this is the first set of new springs and shocks that I have installed and I am NO race car driver, just spirited driving around town. I like the setup but for some reason I think it may not be stiff enough for autocrossing.

Well you said you don't mind a harsh ride, and there are a lot of stiffer options out their. A forum search will tell you all of them. Racing Beat is more like the next step up from the turbo RX-7's stock springs. But unless you get something only a little stiffer than Racing Beat, you can't use your Tokico Blues (a forum search will also tell you what springs people have used in combination with tokico blues, btw). You need shocks that match your springs to make sure you go up and down only 1-2 times after hitting a bump, not up-down-up-down-up-down... On the flipside if you were to get shocks that are much stiffer than your springs (not Tokico Blues), you'd blow your shocks a lot faster.

OTOH Tokico Blues are what you have and Racing Beat produces exceptional quality parts and has great service. According to tons of RX-7 owners around here anyway.

I have tokico blues with RB springs, after driving it for awhile I honestly wish I would have gone stiffer. It's good for daily driving, but I like a stiffer ride.

thanks for the info I think i will probably sell what i have now and do for something stiffer thanks... Though the only stiff springs that looked up to my spec were the RS*R race springs which are a pain in the *** to find!!! so... either keep looking find a set and get some kyb agx cranked all the way up or go with coilovers$$$... grr but hey nothing is cheap and it is still less expensive then the bwm i was looking at building beemer performance parts are just ridiculous
