Question Racing Beat power pulse muffler

Hi Guys,

I need to buy new mufflers for my FC. My first choice is obviously the Power Pulse mufflers that Racing Beat sells. I'm poor and broke but like quality items and they have a good reputation.

My questions are 2.

Anyone here has anything bad to say about these mufflers?

and

Has anybody cut one of these things open to see the innards of it?

I'd like to see some pictures of them on the inside to see how it's designed.

Thanks

On an NA, louder than stock. On a TII or TII swap, about the same noise level albeit throatier exhaust note.

If you open one up primarily what you'll see is a whole bunch of steel wool packed in there around the connection chamber.

Buy a used RB catback. It will last for the entire life of the car without question.

Just get the rb stuff. I went through 2 custom exhausts and a borla catback before I finally broke down and got the rb stuff. I wish I had done it to begin with, I could have bought it new with all the money I spent on the other system. Plus my 2 exhaust tickets wouldn't have happened either.
I think the duals are the way to go, but they leave you no provision for a cat. Im going to have a custom 2 cat midpipe made with rb flanges for inspections one day.

What cats are you going to use? I've been looking at doing the same for my RB Dual.

theres some real small ones I found back when I worked at autozone. I think they were for a vw or something. 2" pipe and the overall body was only around 4"x7".
I plan to do one slightly in front of the other so they will clear.

Well guys. I did go to eBay for help and help was there.

I found a pair of RB mufflers, used. Bid on them and won. Total damage, $175.
I'll get them some time next week. I guess i'll have what I wanted and didn't break the bank.

Will keep you posted on results.
