Is the Racing Beat flywheel or any lightened flywheel for that matter worth the money? My friend has one in is rex and he says it makes a big difference. Please let me know guys..

 

You should do a search on this one. Lots of threads and varying opinions on Aluminum vs Lightened Steel. Main thing you gain is hp getting past the flywheel and through to your rear tires. Main thing you loose is a smoother idle and minimal clutch slipping from a standing start.

Unless you NEVER have to deal with stop and go traffic, go lightened steel. Even if you don't, I's still suggest lightened steel for the better driveability around town.

 

I had the lightened steel in my GXL..... I loved it, very nice and I would recommend it.

 

your idle is unaffected by a lightweight flywheel. some people will say the racing beat aluminum piece is too light for the street but I have it in my FC (that I drive everyday) and it was one of the best mods I've done...it's easy to drive with and makes for an engine even more willing to rev, frees up some nice top-end and makes your tranny feel silky smooth on fast shifts at redline.
