Racing Beat Exhaust install help please!

Installing RB exhaust, we were gonna crank it up open downpipe, and the engine wouldn't turn over. We found the ground strap on the rear muffler (where does it connect to?) and we think it's that. Any opinions?

I didnt reattach the ground strap when I installed my RB's and it started up fine. Are you sure it's not something else?

I'm not sure. That's why I posted, I wanted to get some people's ideas on what exactly they thought it could be

Do you think that possibly could be a dead battery?

Maybe you accidentally knocked the harness plug off of the starter while working on your exhaust.

yeah but you shouldnt have gone anywhere near the starter to slap on the exhaust. my ground strap was already broken so i didnt reconnect it.

if the starter is clicking, either the solenoid is sticking, or the battary doesnt have enough juice to spin it, id charge it, it it doesnt help have your pal crank it while you tap the starter with a wrench or a hammer it may loosen up the solenoid. but its usually indication of a failing starter, just charge it up first. has it been a while since the car has run?

The ground strap on the exhaust is for reducing radio noise and power surges into the engine, caused by static electricity.

By no means is it required, however it is recommended if you have any sort of engine noise coming through the radio.

You probably had a door ajar or something and wasted your battery away. Try jumpstarting it.

Hey, thanks for all the replys you all. We got the exhaust on, and we figured out it was the battery. We left the doors open a little too long and such, but once we let it charge a little, everything ran smoothly. My buddy accidentally loosened a coolant screw on the block, which made smoke of course. Kinda freaked us both out until he figured out what he had done. We got it all put together, drove it around a little, and boy howdy is it a dream and a half. Better than I thought.

Not exactly but at the last dyno day in teh bay area. Username: eflking had a stock s4 T2 and pulled 150rwhp or so. Earlier that day I dyno'd and managed to pull 190 rwhp/178 ft-lbs. My mods include the RB full exhuast and a fuel pump.

My T2 felt like it was an entirely new car after the exhaust.
