racing beat exhaust

Ok...I'm new to rx7 club
Umm...I was wondering if anybody knew whether the complete racing beat exhaust and catback exhaust was emissions/sound legal? I'm all for power, but i want to keep it so that i dont' get pulled over for soemthing like exhaust or not be able to pass a smog test. If you could help me out i would appreciate it. thanks.

The complete is not loud, so I imagine the catback would be at least as quiet. If you need to pass emissions, Cali no less, then you'd better stick with catback.

I just got the complete exhaust will put it in next week, I would save the stock one for smog inspection after smog then put the complete exhaust back on, I know thats lot of work but for HP I'll go for it.

I've had it on my 87 n/a for months. I love it. It is not too loud to the point of being "Honda Ricer" but it is to where people will turn there heads due to the very interesting low rotary tone. I have yet to get an intake so I am not utilizing it fully but I recommend the catback system. It passed emissions fine with it on. After that you can get rid of the cat and buy a cat replacement pipe from RB. Good stuff.

I've had it on my car for about a year now. I love it. as long as your not on the gas, the exhaust is fairly quiet. although if you have a monkey putting on your tires and they don't know how to set up the mounting points on the lift they will bend your exhaust and it will sound like ****!!!!!!!
but really they have a decent sound that the cops have yet to mess with me for. and believe me the cops are pretty bad around here.

I don't think the Racing Beat catback is loud at all. I was expecting much worse after everyone was saying how loud rotaries were. It has a nice, low, aggressive note. Can't wait to get my header/presilencer and see what it sounds and feels like!

the RB turbo II is pretty quiet. but not street legal. I added a 3" cat to mine. I'm not sure if you need to keep "stock" cats or not in cali though.

I passed here with airpump and ACV in. when the cat was 2 days old. I dont' think it would pass it again
