Racing Beat DTSS eliminators - help!

I'm installing racing beat's DTSS eliminators on 91' RX-7 and I'm having trouble. I got the stock DTSS bushings out of the suspension and I got the racing beat ones pressed back in. The issue that I quite don't understand is why is the center steel bushing longer than the plastic outer bushing? Wouldn't that cause the bushing to still slide on each other thus making rear geometry to change? I put the suspension back on and that center steel bushing sticks out about 1/4" inch on each side. Maybe it is right, but it just looks wrong. I do have the notch facing up as the instructions say.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

You can see how the inner metal bushing is longer than inner plastic bearing this when I bolt up there hub, it will be about 1/4" away from the actual hub. This may be fine, because this will be the same distance with the OEM bushing. I just looks weird, but it is probably fine.

It's fine. The way a DTSS bushing would work is that plastic would have give in it and the sleeve would be able to tilt about its axis. The rigid plastic will not allow that to happen.

I've wondered about this myself.
The RB dtss eliminators as well as a few others have the metal sleeve stock out. But the MMR version and some others have the sleeves flush w/ the plastic. I guess it doesn't make too much of a difference...
