Racing Beat or Apexi

Hey hows it going. Im swapping out my exhaust soon and am curious as to what you guys thing i should go with. My car right now has Apexi catback duals. Im going to be buying from racing beat but i was wondering if you think i should stay with the apexi and do the 2 to 1 headers back to the Y or go for the whole True Duals Racing Beat set up.
My car is an 88 N/T.
Just looking for opinions. Ideas on sound quality and how loud either set up would be.
Thanks in advance for your responces.

racing beat is definately the more quiet of the two, the true duals are kinda loud but apexi is louder still

RB. IMO those Apexi look like autozone fart cans. People hear you coming but they just think flatulence.

Racing Beat is quiet and tasteful. Apex'I N1 style is stupid loud (especially on an NA) and the cans are HUGE.

I have both on the car now. RB downpipe and Silencer to Apexi N1 Evo catback (passenger exit).

It isn't that loud. With a test pipe instead of a silencer, yes. And the can on this system is smaller than my old crappy knockoff duals.

Yes, RB sounds good. The N1 is only "stupid loud" on a NA. It sounds quite good on a Turbo. The cans aren't "huge." They pale in comparison to the old GReddy PE, which everyone seems to adore for some reason.

No ****.

The Greddy PE looks like you're trying to smuggle mexican midgets in your exhaust!

i just can stand people who put those ugly dual tip mufflers on both sides of their cars. Since your car is a na id put that money into something else and keep what you got seriously. For the kind of money racingbeat is and hp you get out of it aint worth it.

If you do decide to go with RB. Then are you going to sell your duals.

yeah if i decide to go with the true duals i will be selling my current exhaust. Only one issue with the exhaust is that the previous owner cut off the tips on the exhaust because he felt they stuck out too far. So they are about 1-1.5 inches shorter than factory. And no longer have the capability to recieve silencers if desired. (that exuse has gotten me out of many exhaust tickets). The exhaust as also been bottomed out several times a few dents on the cans but if your interested pm me and ill keep you in mind when i decide on the exhaust.

Thanks for all the input guys.

In all fairness for a proper judgement to be made I should explain where I would like to be going with this car and planned future modifications.
As of right now just over 83000 original miles on it always taken care of, So i have a while before a rebuild.
It has a K&N intake system and will be getting a 5 lug hub conversion, tokico struts and Intrax 1.5" lowering springs.
Centerforce I clutch and pressure plate installed around 75k maintained the stock flywheel.
I plan on when the time comes to have the engine rebuilt and ported (not sure on the level of porting I would like to have performed yet) and have either s5 or Rx8 rotors lightened and installed to increase compression. And im also thinking about a set of itb's (http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_...oducts_id=117).
So if this changes anyones opinions on exhaust selection then let me know. Im pretty set on the true duals, just hesitant because my car is semi famous where i live for its "Cannons"

the apexi n1s are just cat back right now so i'd gain a bit from getting the headers and getting rid of the cats.

apex is a lighter system and produces more power.

rb is much more sedate sounding, but also quite hefty. kind of depends on your goals for the car.

track machine or street machine?
