racing

ok, i am getting a 1987 rx7 GSL 93 000 KM (manual tr)
in a race could i beat the following:
1987 Nissan 300zx turbo (manual)
1995 Eagle Talon ESI (automatic)
1990 Nissan 240sx (manual)
1994 Honda Prelude (manual)
1988 Ford Mustang 5.0 (automatic)
1987 Toyota MR2 supercharged (manual)

All cars are stock, mine will have a k&N, and performance wires.

you could beat the 240 and the prelude.

with your planned mods, expect to see an extra horsepower or two.

Why do people buy NA 7's and think theyre fast?

Theyre really **** poor slow unless you do some work to it like porting or something.

You could take all those guys on an auto-x course if youre good enough ... but Im assuming youre not into that

If the dude can drive and the car is in good shape, no way. Z31s are faster than people think, especially if the owner adds a free-flowing exhaust. My 240,000 mile 87 turbo automatic Z (for which I paid the princely sum of $700) got the better of many unsuspecting 15 second and slower cars.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... thats a good one. Assuming the driver doesn't completely incinerate his tires at the start, you're toast. Even if he does spin them, he can still catch you. 5.0s are very quick in a straight line, although the automatic ones have a lame transmission.
