Quickie question about stock CD player and Cassette player.

I have a quick question about the stock cd and cassette player.
Cd player:
When I stick a Cd in there, the Cd player light just says "Disc set" but my Cd doesnt play and it just goes back to the radio. I guess you could say It attempts to read the Cd, disc set light lights up, then it just switchs back to the radio.

Cassette Player:
My cassette player doesnt take any cassette tapes. I try to put it in there and it just spits it back out. So im pretty much guessing it is toast along with my cd player.

Radio works fine, But I think it is time to get a new after market stero set up if I cant fix at least one of my problems.

There's a stock CD player? Really? Guess I'll have to get one.

Yes, there is a stock CD player...I have one in my '87 TII and it works great. Even plays burned CDs from my PC.
Sounds like the lens on the laser has dust on it. Also, I would check for cold and broken solder joints on all the boards in each module.
Taking them apart is tedious, but re-soldering bad joints can clear up all sorts of radio/cassette/CD problems

Alright, Ill take a look at the joints monday after I get off work, I'd liek to do it now, but sadly Lawn work(mowing 3 hours worth of lawn in this intense heat and sun ) are taking priority over it

Chuck it in the bin along with your tapes. Seriously...

Get a new head unit that plays MP3's or accepts an iPod.

Off the top of my head there was 2 different tape decks and 1 cd deck available. Regardless, I'm going to have to go with NZ on this one.
