anyone tell me a quick fix for these damn switches? my pass side went a while back and now the driver side is gone too. fortunetly it's fall and both windows are up, but i would like to have a way to roll them down sometime before i find replacement switches. i tried 'hardwiring' it in a couple crazy ways but couldnt' find anything that worked. any help?

 

buy replacement ones, or get Icemark to rebuild them for you.

 

The generic switch for the window motor is a double pole, double throw. center off toggle (DPDTCO).
Hot & ground go to the center pins. The window motor goes to the end pins. Two jumper wires cross each other from the end pins to the other end pins.

 

just hit it hard with your finger and keep tapping it till it will go down and up.....just untill you can open up the switch and fix it..

When you get it out just clean the contacts with some contact cleaner and then apply some vasalene to the contacts...pop it back in...

By rebuild I assume you mean he combined 2 switches. It's the stupid internal plastic lever arm that breaks as shown here:

 

i would vist my local auto recycling center aka pick a part, and get it off another rx

 

just clean the contacts on the switches. I do mine at least once a year, htey will run much better.

 

I agree with vaughnc...mine broke in the same place on the switch...fixed mine by reinforcing the broken piece with some 2-part epoxy...also worked very well for fixing those pesky screw post and breaks on the console surround around the logicon and radio...also fixed the center a/c vent with it...works great !!!
