This should be a simple question but i have heard conflicting answeres. Are N/A s4 housing compatible with my N/A s5 motor?

Well on mazdatrix's webpage, there are two seperate part numbers for the housings between s4/s5.
Maybe the only difference is the port air locations or something?

Spark plug timing locations are different too. Don't mix and match.

You can use 2 s4 housings, or 2 s5 housings in either s4 or s5 assembly. No mixing and matching, though, since the spark plug locations are different. Just as long as you use 2 of the same you're fine.

I also would imagine if the spark plug holes are in diff locations you need to adjust timing

Timing numbers in the FSM are same for s4 and s5, so don't worry about changing it.

iirc the s5 rotor housing have the lower spark plug moved down 2mm and tilted a slight angle over the s4
