I' haven't been around the Forums THAT long.. but i've noticed something


I have a 87.5 TII, my S4's hood scoop "trim/insert" is painted black.. but it's a white car...

all the pics I've seen on the net of S4's have a color matching hood scoop.. mine doesn't... the car was completely bone stock, previous own was in his late 50's... i don't think he went out and paid to have the air scoop painted black...

I'm just curious.. was this an optional thing back in the day or what?

my car looks Exactly identical to this one, down to the T... only difference is the color of the scoop

no man, I just wondered if it was OEM or a previous owner's doing that's all

believe me it's the least of my worries, i gotta get the car running first.. it's just sitting there.. just have trouble finding a shop that's willing to fab up the block off plates for my emissions removal.. they all complain the work is too intricate or they're demanding retarded money for it...

this is just a side thing :P

btw I used to live in FT. McMurray.. **** was it cold up there...

 

Black was the color that the part comes from the dealer, when it has been replaced and not painted.

Probably broke or cracked it, had the dealer replace it, never had it painted.

The Turbo came new with the scoop color matched to the car.
