Quick question on hoods.

Found a 88 RX7 convertible being parted out. Owner knows nothing. Two questions:

1. Is the hood on a 88 vert aluminum?

2. Is it the same size as other FCs. Will if fit a 86 GXL?

Thanks.

All S4 'verts are supposed to have aluminium hoods. Check it with a magnet.

It will fit the GXL just fine.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but... why is the vert hood aluminum? No big deal, just curious. It was the first thing I noticed when I raised it. Now my SE hood feels like it's made of lead

Probably to offset the weight added by the extra body bracing added to compensate for the lack of a roof.

yup all that weight added for the bracing, and probably keeps it closer to the 50/50 distribution (or whatever % it is, pretty sure its not exactly 50/50)
