quick question about trim painting

He there I'm about to paint the trim on my S4. I know that its held on by adhesive and these plastic things (don't know the name) but does anyone know if the dental floss and blow drier trick work at getting them off?

thanks

if you mean the trim around the "waist" of the car, the Factory service manual calls for a heat gun to remove, i don't think a blow drier is hot enough. I've never heard of using dental floss but that sounds like it might work, some good fishing line would be stonger though.

yeah I don't have a heat gun but I know the dental floss trick should work. Most ppl use it to get the letters off the back of the cars. I know dental floss isn't the strongest thing out there but I'm going with the waxed kind so it shouldn't really hur the body.

If your using dental floss you may find that mint works better.

on the adjuster for the mirrors is a small clip that u'll have to pry up w/ a screwdriver. there is a screw under that to take the adjuster off and pull the inside cover/sleeve away to reveal the 3 screws holding the mirror to the body. takes 2 minutes to remove each mirror...
