Quick question about the S5 TPS...

To my understanding the S5 has a self adjusting TPS. Does that mean that you never have to adjust it? The reasion why I ask is because when I start my car cold it does the 1500 RPM jump cycle untill it warms up. Recently, after driving the car, the RPMs drop to around 500 when I come to a stop. Before, I could hit the gas a little and it would smooth out at around 900 RPM. Now, however, it smooths out then goes back to 500 RPM. Is this a bad TPS? I searched the 2nd gen forum, but everyone is talking about the S4 TPS it seems. Even RTeds site just briefly mentions the S5 long enough to say that its self adjusting.

I had an S5 ('91 N/A) and I had to adjust its TPS. Set it to 1000 Ohms engine fully warmed up.

The TPS isn't self-adjusting, the ECU is. You should check it as per the FSM anyway. You don't even know if there's something wrong with it yet.

Is your CEL displayed ? If yes check your codes to see if it's your TPS.
