I searched, but I guess it's so obvious, I didn't find the info when searching (maybe it should be in the archive or stickied).

I have the 5-bolt hubs and disk, but am still running single piston brakes (essentially the S5 single piston brake setup).

Can I just remove the front single-piston calipers and brackets, and install the 4-piston ones directly - basically, is the spindle the same between for both types of calipers? I will also make sure to use the factory shims between the aluminum caliper and spindle.

 

Yes you can mount the 4-piston calipers to the single piston mounts, but make sure you use the 5 lug dust shield or else teh 4 lug shield will be too small

 

sry to threadjack but could u put the bigger brakes on a 4lug s4 without swapping to 5 lug

 

Not easily, you'd need to re-drill the rotors and you wouldn't be able to use the factory wheels anymore.

 

i already have aftermarket wheels thats y id like to keep 4 lug
