Red face quick question

question
should you be able to turn an rx7 engine using a socket and pry bar on the main pulley....if yes then this makes two engines to crap out on me in less than a year. the red one in late december and my 91 saturday.........saturday i went to crank it,it made a noise like it was going to start then it made some loud clicks (2 to be exact) then a heartrenching clunk and when silent. it has not been my year....hahahahahaha
is it possible to be too hard on a rotary?

Yep, with a 3/4" (19mm) socket, and a half inch breaker bar, she should be fairly easy to turn from that front bolt...

You can even turn over the engine taking the little 10mm nuts off the fan.

Was this last motor a rebuild or a used J-spec?

Put it in 4th & push the car backwards & forwards - you might get lucky.
Those two loud clicks don't sound good..
