A Quick Question

I just got an '88 RX-7 for free from my uncle; the only problem is that it has a blown engine. I found an engine that I'm almost completely sure will fit my car, the only problem is that it's turbo, and the RX-7 was not originally turbo. I'd just like to know if anybody knows if that will be a problem or not. Thanks in advance,

Matt

oh yeah, you would have to also make sure its an S4 and to change it to turbo you would need ecu, rearend, and some other things but if your not looking for speed then stick with NA motor because its alot cheaper and easier.

why would he have to change the rear end? If it'll line up with the NA tranny then what would be the point? I think it's going to be more of a hassle than it's worth...buy a rebuild with a warrenty and make people jealous...

Thank you! I'm not really looking for speed (although it would be kinda nice) so I'll just take your advice and stick with NA. Right now my other options are to get the engine I have rebuilt or to just go buy a new one.. I'm going with the rebuild unless an unforseen problem arises. Either way, it will hopefully be done within the next month or so. I'll let you know how it turns out, with pictures most likely. Thanks again for the help.

well wouldnt you have to put the LSD in with the TII tranny wouldnt that count for better traction.

I wasn't aware that the TII tranny had to be used so yeah, you're right.
