Quick 'n' easy question here

I'm almost sorry to ask this because i'm sure it's been asked before and i'm sure it's too quick and easy.

Will a Series 5 (19891992) motor & tranny fit in Series 4 (19861988) Rx-7?

They will fit but there are other parts that would have to swapped over from the S4 to the S5.

Here is a link to get an idea.

Thanks for the quick reply and info. I think I need to reiterate my question with a few more specifics.

I have a S4 N/A rx-7 and i'm looking to drop in a S5 turbo. The engine I'm purchasing comes with:
* Complete engine with turbo
* 5speed transmission
* Alternater
* Power steering pump
* Full harness
* Ecu
* Top mount intercooler
* Intake manifold
* Exhaust manifold
* Starter
* A/c compressor
* all the sensor and accessories

So the question would be... is anything on my engine bay such as the wiring harness, etc. going to work with the new ECU? What about the drive shaft, exhaust header, hood (I know I need an inlet for the intercooler), anything else?

your better off jsut buying a TII

theres alot of work and money into doing a n/a-tII swap especially s5-s4

but yes it has been done and theres tons of information on it if you use the search button at the top of the page

and also the site posted earlier http://www.rotaryresurrection.com has a ton of information on the swap
