Question Questions Regarding Spark and Starting

I'm not sure why, but my car won't start unless I press the pedal down and it gradually starts. I haven't started it in awhile, so I tried tonight and I think my battery has gone dead, 'cuz it wouldn't turn over (though it sounded like it wanted to), and the starting noise just got slower and slower each try. Now, I had just put in the plugs, which were dry and free of gunk (carbon, black stuff), and when I took them out, it was weird cuz the only two that had fuel were the trailing on the right side and the leading on the left side. Can someone tell me what that's supposed to mean? I figure maybe I'm not getting enough spark from those plugs and that's why it's so hard to start. Do I need new plug wires, or coils? Or am I doing something wrong?

Also, I've done the TB mod, and I have the problem where the car dies if I rev too high (past 2k rpms) even if its just to warm up the car. I can't have this happening when I'm driving obviously, so is there anything I could do to solve this problem? The car idles around 750, should I bump it up, or would that even help?

Finally, I just had a bunch of mods and I was wondering if it was ok to just drive the car to and from school and work without having to worry about detonating or running too lean. I have a clutch, Walbro, cleaned injectors, S5 turbo, turboback exhaust, intake, FCD, and I have a Greddy E-manage, but I have no idea how I would tune it or what not so I haven't hooked it up yet (not to mention the instructions are kinda confusing for installation).

And last question...I have a set of Mazdaspeed MS-01s I just got. Is it ok for me to take them apart to clean and get refurbed/painted? Is there a specific torque for the little nuts or should I be ok just doing it by hand?

Thanks in advance.

it sounds like a bad spark. like it got flooded then cleared up *magically* and now your left with bad spark. and the dying at 2k sounds like them motor is getting too much load on it and dying. as for only one set of plugs being wet, who knows, they both get wet just the same, sounds like either your coils are bad, or just bad wires.

What do u mean by the motor is getting too much load? But as far as spark, I was just gonna get new coils and wires and see if that helped. I just don't wanna know how much the coils would be from the dealer...

Oh, and it wasn't a set of plugs. It was one trailing from the right housing and the leading from the left.

I have a similar problem with my '88 vert righ now. Night before last, I parked the car and the motor seemed just a little off, but nothing else. The next day, yesterday, I tried to start it, the motor turns over easily, but does not seem like it is getting compression. It actually seemed to ignite a couple of times, but not enough to get the engine running. Fuses seem to be OK, but when I checked the radiator overflow tank, there seemed to be a light film of oil on top of the coolant. Checking the radiator did not reveal the same thing. This vehicle sat in someone's driveway for at least 5 years before I got it. Some of the other things that happened to it was when she tried to start it up again last summer and tried to install the battery herself. Put it in backward and fried the main fuse (80A). No telling what else she did to it. I don't know if the fuel pump is working or not. Could not hear any evidence of it today. I am frustrated.
