Questions about starting.

Alright, I just bought my 88 TII RX-7, and it had a few little problems to work out. So far I've fixed all the minor ones, but one that kinda pisses me off right now is a weird start-up problem. The car starts fine when it has a few hour intervals between starts, but once I turn the car off, if I wanted to turn it on again, say, 5 minutes later, it won't start. Well, it won't start conventionally. If I floor the gas and turn it a few times, it starts. Or it works even faster if I pull the EGI fuse and re-insert, which leads me to believe it has something to do with engine flooding. Was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem, and knows how to fix it. Or just knows the what problem is in general. Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys.

Fuel pump cutoff switch, and see if that helps.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking earlier, just wanted to hear more opinions. Thats good though, so far all the people I've asked seem to think thats a good idea. Do you think maybe the cutoff switch would be unnecessary if I replaced the fuel pump solenoid?
