WA Questions About My Rx-7

Hey everyone,

So I will start out by saying I am on my second FC after my first. a 1986, was sadly totaled after only a small fender bender and some door work that needed to be done. Currently own a 1987 GXL, and pretty happy with it. I know it needs a lot of work but I am curious as to what people think about it as a whole. I wonder about the black plastic trim, do I just paint over that for a full color on the car like some choose to do? I don't personally like the black trim. Also, once I get some new pictures up I was curious about what exhaust I have. This car was repossessed from some guy who spent his money on the car, and forgot to pay for the car, or so it seems. I got it for a grand from a used car lot. It didn't run at the time, so we talked him down. It was a simple fix and runs great now, for a side story, if you will :-P.

I also was wondering where people get parts such as the side view mirrors that have 2 connecting points on the outside, and a whole in the middle. I believe it is the S5Turbo side views if they are any different, but the reason for me asking is I am unsure which they are and where to get them.

Also, there are different body kits out there, I am a fan of the more wide body kits that I have seen, yet not so much as the one that is being made by a man, or at least was being made by a man on these forums, the VERY wide body kit.

As well, when I got the new car, the red one pictured, the speedometer's housing [completely spacing on the word] would completely light up, and until this car I had no idea that was the case with these housing's. I knew the gauges themselves lit up, but there is also like a different 4 lights that would light everything else up around the gauges yet I can not find where those lights are when I take apart the gauge's housing.

Also, currently thinking of getting;

Are these seats any good?

^Isn't that the water pump?
Nice looking S4, though. The mirrors you want are on all S5's I believe. There on my S5 NA.

The mirrors that you speak of are universal on S5 RX7 coupes(not 100% sure on the 'vert). You can find them for sale I am sure in the classifieds section of this forum or you can find them on ebay.

The '88 GTU and TII also came with "aero" mirrors, though the '88 version was a bit smaller and less rounded than the S5 style. Both kinds of mirrors fit the OP's description of having two posts and a hole in the middle.

Re-read over original post, and I meant to ask for some links or ideas of body kits and the price ranges of such. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am taking apart the speedometers house as well, and I still cannot find out where the light that is fulling lighting up the housing is at.
