Questions about my 1/4 times

Mods are in my sig.

I went to the track for the first time today. My best was 16.4 @ 86 mph with a 2.3 60'.

Now, I have always had problems with my 5th and 6th ports. I have them wired open because even Chris at banzai racing couldnt even get my actuators to work( and thats saying something). With my mods, I was dead even with a Z24 cavalier with intake and exh. And that is simply pathetic. The weird thing is, is that I know my car is faster than this. I have beaten many quick (not fast) cars before; Turbo MR2, GST, new civic si, ect ect.
This inconsistencey with my car makes me want to pull my hair out. My first thought about my "slowness" went towards my ports. They have always been the cause of my concern. I can see one (might be the 5th) still wired up. But I cant seem to find the 6th. Is there anything else that could be slowing my car down? The cavalier even gianed a few MPH on me bewteen the 60' and the 1/8 (right in a rotary powerband). This points to top end loss (aka ports). Is there anything else I could check (ports or otherwise) to help me out???

THat doesnt sound right at all, considering your mods. The stock NA's ran that in the quarter! Gosh i dont really have any idea, except it might have to do with the fact your 5th and 6th ports arent working right....

best of luck man

Yeah doesnt sound right. 2.3 0-60ft time. How did you manage to beat the gst and turbo mr2, the civic si I can believe, but a turbo eclipse and a turbo mr2. Are u sure they were racing?

Yeah, theres definitely something wrong with those times. I ran a 15.8 with a 100k junkyard s5 motor I just dropped in. I had wired open VDI and aux ports and a not so great launch.

So now, about the aux ports. Are they wired open or not? First you said they were, then that you weren't sure about the rear one.
Next, is the problem that the actuators won't work or that the ports are stuck? If the ports are stuck then you have to pull the LIM and clean them out. If the actuators don't work then get new actuators. If the actuators are good but aren't getting the air to open them, check the solenoid thingy that sends them air and that its still connected to the stock air pump. I find it hard to believe that you truly can't get the aux ports on an s5 to work since its a fairly simple checklist of things to do.

I cant seem to see the "rear" one at all. And with all the vibrations of 3 1/4 straight pipe exh, i can only help but think that the wire has come lose.

Thanks SideWays. Your 15.8 proves to me that something is drasticaly wrong here.

The ports are not stuck, just the actuators wouldnt ever work. They were even getting the right PSI in order to open, but they never would fully open (maybe carbon build up???), so Chris just wired them open about a year ago. IDK....im pissed

isnt 3 1/4in piping a little much for an n/a? seems like you'd lose the backpressure that you'd probly rather keep
