Questions about fc, have mercy on me

Hello,

I've been looking for a RWD project car and
been trying to narrow down my choices.
The two are:
1. 240sx
3. Rx7 either FD or FC

I drive my vr4 everyday and while I love
the thing to death, there are some things you
can't do with AWD and 3750 lbs, like drift.

I've ridden in some nice sr20 swapped
240sxs and I def had a good time and respect
that car a ton.

The 7 only is slightly lower right now because I
would have to learn a lot about working on the rotary.
And I read about some low output from those cars
but have heard stories of FC track beasts so I
know power lurks somewhere.

Anyway some questions about the FC, the FD is very
popular and I know the power potential of it.

I'd like the car to be able to run a 12.7-13.0 quarter
mile. I'm reading some pretty slow times from your
average modded Turbo II.

What types of upgrade options do you have to get
a Turbo FC into the 300+ rwhp (not flywheel) range?

Are parts abundant for these cars?
Any more suggested reading materials or car sites?

thanks,

Not a definate rule or anything, but a nice set of guidelines to give you an idea what is needed..

Keep in mind the price of the FD vs. FC with reference to the "slow" numbers from the average modded Turbo II. Yes, the average modded TII will only do mid-high 13's, but you also need to realize that the average modded TII only has about $4,000 in it, including the car, while a used stock FD sells for around $12,000. If you were to take a $2,000 stock Tubro II and add $10,000 worth of go-fast goodies, you would smoke a $12,000 FD. The FD would look better, though.

Get the S13/S14 - it makes for a better drift car, period.
