Question Questions about Bonez 2.5" racepipe....

I finally convinced my parents to buy me something illegal for Christmas....YEAH!!!! I have an 88 SE(NA). Anybody else throw this pipe on? How were the results? I'm looking foward to getting it anyway beacause two of my cats are already blown(from the previous owner's abuse....@$$hole). She's mine now and will always be....as stupid as that may sound....lol

I was quite happy w/ it on my '86. 6 ports finally worked right, better power all rpms and lighter than cats. Sometimes my eyes would water from the exhaust, but nothing like my current cat-less TII.

I have both the Bonez MP & DP on my 88 T2, it made a huge dif! But I doubt it will make that amount of dif on a na...It should however be quicker to rev, not sure, but it might hurt low end torque? Good product though! Cost effective and well made.

I put it on my 88 gxl.. Sure, it's a tad louder, and sounds kinda bizarre at first, but I really got to like the sound..hehe

As for power... My front 6p was stuck closed to begin with, but i believe my rear was working fine. I'm not sure if the rear was opening after i put the midpipe on or not, but it felt a *LOT* better in the low end. I ended up tying the port open, and I did lose a bit of low end, but not enough to regret my choice, or un-do it. There was a noticeable top-end gain, and i gained a MPG or two..

It's cheap and easy.. Easy to un-do, too.. go for it!

I'm still stuck on which product to get, RP racepipe or RB DP and presilencer. The racepipe is $160 and the RB DP and PS is $290, but the RB is stainless. If I plan to go to a header then the racepipe will be useless, but the RB PS can be used with the stainless street header. Decisions, decisions.....

Any comments?

I had my car on a lift today(to see where my oil leak was coming from)and I noticed that the bolts to the y-pipe were pretty rusted. Looks I'm going to have to get the gasket and bolt kit also. The gasket didn't look to healthy either.....Thanks alot people
