Question regarding removing entire a/c and heater

any effects? my car seems to take a while for the rpms to drop when i rev it and the engine is really loud and whiny. i changed the belts and stuff. just wondering. sorry, noob question. i probably need to adjust idle, too, but...just asking ahead. thanks.

Your question is unclear what exactly are you asking. A/C should have no affect on rpm during decceleration unless it is on then your RPM should drop faster not slower down to the rpm that is normal for idle while compressor is on. removing heater if you need to shave those last 8 pounds off the car then do it but book time is somewhere near 6 hours for this job and my guess is that it would take most people about 24 hours to remove the entire dash and remove the heater core then reinstall everything properly. I dont know exactly what the weather is like where you are but I bet at 3 A.M. in january you might be sorry you did that.

if you put the belts on too tight and did not set them to factory specs, you would have increased whine from the bearings in the Air Pump, A/C, power steering, water pump and alt all dieing.

tinvestor - i removed everything underneath the dash, the pipes, condenser, etc. I left the electrical wiring alone. so, when i say that it's whining or slow to decelerate, there's no a/c on. i guess another question is if the ecu reads anything? maybe a signal isn't being sent, blah blah blah, but i think i'll adjust the belts again according to icemark. thanks guys.
