Question regarding fc region differences

Hey guys,

I am rather new the rx7 space and am looking to get a second generation sometime soon.
Looking online, I see that there what seem to be region differences between the FC's.
Namely, it looks like the side blinker position and shape are different between versions released in Europe compared to the rest of the world.
Where European version have a round-like side blinker behind the front wheel. And US & JP version having a rectangular side blinker in front of their front wheel.
Besides that, it seems that US models have a red rectangular light behind the back wheel on the side, while other region versions don't.

As I can imagine that these region differences are there for a reason.
I was wondering if having a US version imported to Europe, the Netherlands to be specific, would require modification to be inline with the legislation that's in place.
Or if perhaps such rules no longer apply due to the age of the car.

Besides that, are there any other region differences that I have missed and should be looking out for?

To my knowledge there's a bunch of small differences, mostly negligible, some of the ones I know beyond the indicator light locations, are UK and other cars with wider plates, have their plate lights in the rear bumper cover, to widen the license plate area. Also having one of the reverse lights dedicated to be a rear fog light. In the Canadian spec, the dashboard got additional ventilation on the lower sides, and of course RHD vs LHD.
I couldn't say how the laws in the Netherlands would react to an American import, however, I would guess the only real issue you could face is that European style front marker. Change that around, and all you have is additional markers in the rear. If the Netherlands requires rear fog lights, you will have to change out your tails to comply, assuming there is no legal clause that says imported cars don't have to comply with regulations beyond a certain year, like it is here in the US and Canada.

Thanks for the heads up! I wasn't aware of some of these points.
As far as import to the Netherlands goes, I do believe imported cars have to follow certain restrictions.
Though from what I could find, most of the info seems to be rather vague

As for the fog lights, these are required in The Netherlands, so I guess these would need be switched out as well.
