Question: Mounting Diff To Subframe

Ok, I'm on my 4th attempt on keeping my differential mounted to the subframe.... It keeps popping off, I go good for a day, and then the next its pops off again.... I'm tightening it as much as I can possible. and it keeps poppin off. any suggestions on keeping it on? I was thinking about just welding peices together to keep in on but I'm not sure.. Any suggestion would help.. Also anyone have a picture of the mounting piece that is on the subframe that you tighten down.. Thank you

Hasan

Sounds like you are not installing the "key" that goes over the 2 studs that stick out of the mount. It is a flat piece of metal with 2 holes in it that lock the mount onto the subframe.

Ditto. Either the key is missing OR the tab has broken - it should have a lip that the key catches on.

Yeah as I was looking at the differential mount replacement write up, I saw a hook on the subframe where they connect at, and I don't see that piece... So am I just going to have to weld a new hook on to it? Well obviously..... But is there a specific think ppl usually do when these break?

I just replaced the whole subframe when I broke that tab off - because they are cheap enough and I found one nearby. It was cracked pretty good in what remained and I didn't want to revisit it later should any welding I did to fix it not work.
