question on ignition
hi, well i think that one of my trailing coils is bad i have been having a hesitation and yesterday i decided to test the coils. i followed the service manual procedure and one of my trailing coils is WAY out of spec. spec. is .2-1 and my coil is fluctuating from infinity to 30-40 so it's prob. not good. so on to my question can i just run a couple of blaster 2 msd coils in there place with out the msd 6 or 6al?? i think i can but want to make sure, sorry this is so long

If you are measuring correctly and you are getting the wrong measurements, then the coil is bad.
You can replace with blaster coils if you use a dual channel MSD CDI box, but for the price it's not worth it since the leadings do all the work anyway. So you should just get another stock coil...Too bad, since I just sold one on eBay for $13.

ok, finally thanks aaron well i guess i'd need a box anyway since i've been researching it and i need a ballast resistor too unless i get a box i think i'm just going to get 4 damn boxes and 4 coils that will fix this cars little red wagon!! ok j/k i'm just going to go to the junk yard that should save me some money anyway.
oh and on the measurement it didn't seem right so i went back and measured it again and it was just 1.7 which is still way off what it should be but more realistic

1.7 isn't too bad...Odds are it's due to gunk on the probes/connections or some other simple factor.
If you are getting hesitation, it is doubtful that it's caused by the trailing coil. Look for things like misadjusted TPS, bad plugs or wires (on the leading) and the notorious bad ground problems.
