question on fuel injector cleaning

ive read that everone has good results with getting their injectors clean. but i dont want to have to take them out and send them away. i was wondering if the fuel system cleaning that places like pepboys and other shops do is any good. i usually try to stay away from those places tho. anyone every have them do it with good results?

if the injectors are clogged and bad off the cleaner won't do anything at all. The best way to do it is just pull the injectors and have them cleaned. The cleaners you put in the tank are good to maintain clean injectors and maybe if lightly clogged.

save your money and do it when you have the time or spend the time and see if you can locate a local shop that can clean the injectors off the vehicle. you could probably have the injectors out, cleaned and reinstalled in one day if you planned it right.

in car injector cleaning is BS, and i'm a mechanic...

works for dirty injectors i'm sure, but not so much for clogged. the way i'm doing it is buying a new fuel filter and getting a set of 2 loaner S5 injectors and sending out 2 of mine at a time. that way when i get all 4 cleaned i'm throwing them all in and the downtime for sending in all 4 won't be a week but a matter of a day or 2.

Nope. They need to be removed and properly cleaned. Especially for the FC, that uses a staged injection system. Under normal circumstances, the secodaries would not receive any of the "magic" cleaning solution. Pull them, then send them to a local injection shop.
