?question for the extreme techies??

looking for the amperage that the fuel pump runs at. i know it will fluctuate in voltage.. i'm having probs with the stock resister relay in the fuel system (the relay works but the rester fails)...

been having probs with my 90 gxl's fuel system. the pumps work but can't get them to prime the system or stay on at all.. all of the other **** checks out ... did a resistance test on the resiter relay and it fails between the third couple.. i believe its ( e><f )

any ideas please reply

I'm curious as to why you don't just rewire the fuel pump through a relay...getting 12v all the time when the car is on and all...

Because then it will run richer than it should all the time. Seems obvious...

astrochild, termnals E-F are the resistor. What readings are you getting? If there's no continuity then you need to replace the resistor. Just get the whole thing from a wrecker.

"0" resistance and i have already sourced another and it was bad too.... called mazda and they wanted 170 bucks napa 120 i figured i could out source a generic one from a parts house, and wire it in .. money is a little tight right know.... but i need the amperage .... right now i'm going to jump the yellow connector by the afm
