I am somewhat of a newbie here and don't know too, too much about my car....yet. I have the Racing Beat exhaust from mazdatrix(picture here http://mazdatrix.com/e86-92.htm for the non- turbo. My car is an 87 n/a and i was wondering the purpose of the presilencers and how much the headers from mazdatrix do for your car. Post only positive messages only. I just want to know plain and simple what the pre-silencers and headers do. The main purpose and such. Thanks.

 

You made a good choice. The presilencers (additional mufflers) help reduce the harsh noise of a rotary engine, especially on a non-turbo engine. The headers offer better flow characteristics when compared to the stock exhaust, which yields better performance.
