question for the carb guys about 6port

Does the 6port have to be retained when I go from FI to a sidedraft carb? I'll be using a Dellorto 48 with RB upper intake, road race header collected to a 2in straight pipe and fart can. This motor(85 SE) will be going into an 83 FB. The reason I ask is because I will not have a boost sensing tube to actuate the aux ports. What are the pros an cons(hp loss or gain) of this set up.
Thanks in advance, Ed

My advise would be to remove the auxillary port sleeves and actuators all together, and just block off the holed where the actuators once were. Better yet would be to get a set of pineapple racing sleeves, and epoxy them in place (open of course.. ), and then remove the actuator rods and stuff.

exactly what he said.. take em out.. put it them in the trash and block them off.. thats what ive done and seen on many 6 port rebuilds.. i dont think the difference is very notible.. my low end is the same not very much different.. they get stuck anyway after time..

Then this should probably be in the 1st Gen section.
