Question about the tilt steering...

Since I'm one of those cursed to actually have non-tilt steering, I'm curious to know whether the tilt steering actually tilts higher than the rest of the steering column when it's all the way up (in terms of relative angle)? The non-tilt column is of course, completely straight... which is fine if your a tiny Japanese person with short, skinny legs and no ***, but not if you're a 200-pound American who's near 6'...

It doesn't seem like you could gain much more than a CM or so over the non-tilt steering though, because of the plastic covers on the column itself (there's almost no gap between them and the gauge hood, etc)?

Regaurdless, I'm sure I'll have plenty of legroom once I get my steering spacer in the mail (2.5"...hehe), but I'm still not convinced I'll be able to see the gauges like I used to be able to (unless I just lean way the heck back, but that might be a problem), so I figure I should keep my options open...

my n/a is non tilt and it sits about as high as my TII's tilt column does at the top of its range. there just isn't a ton of legroom in these cars regardless if you have tilt or not.

Oh, in that case, non-tilt FTW.

I don't know who in their right mind would want/need to lower itthough...

But you're forgetting that Italian supercars are completely retarded when it comes to common sense, drivability, etc.
