question about street porting

Im going to be buying a car tomorrow, the person says it is street ported, question is how big is the porting if its called "street porting" Will it make a huge difference in power? He also says one port is stuck shut, any easy way to fix that? Im still no sure what exactly it means to even trace it down to fix it. Thanks in advance.

All N/A's have 6 ports. 4 of them are always open but two of them are activated at about 3500rpm, kinda like vtech. The port actuators get clogged and **** over time, and need to be serviced. Im not sure how to clean them, but do a search and im sure you'll find something here.

Street porting is basically making the exhaust and I believe intake ports larger than normal, this allows more flow. If you port it to much you will cut into the water jacket and will have to find yourself a new core. But yea when its ported, it can make a nice difference on performance if you have a decent free flowing exhaust and intake.

The experts here will probably tell you more.

That's pretty close to it!

Street ports really depend on where you have it done. Normally, it's just a little larger then normal and depending on where it's done, the inserts that are in the NA exhaust ports are removed. Some places do not do this for a street port.

The only real way to find out is the crack it open and see.
