Hello, just bought a 1990 GXL and the previous owner has a 4 point harness for the driver seat and it looks like its bolted up to the seat, which is beyond retarded. The passenger seat belt is just a pile not hooked up to anything. And the stock ones that slide along the door are rusted in place. Whats the best bet? I know a harness is really pointless unless you get a full cage, maybe weld in a 1 bar along the bottom behind the seats and attached it to that? Try to fix the stock seat belts? I dont see myself ever tracking the car or doing anything dumb, its just a car to put hard work into and drive around.

You could remove the automatic ("mousetrack") belts and install a manual set.
