My bad, 4:10's. I've been around my GM friends too long.

The usdm spec gtu (s4) and gtu's (s5) na's had 4.30 rear ends too. The s4 used the clutch type lsd and the s5 used the viscous style lsd. I have wanted an s4 gtu rear end for soooo long.....

No, the only US model to have a 4.3 rear end was the S5 GTUs (not the GTU). It was a viscous LSD.

Standard specs sticky: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/specifications-what-did-2nd-generation-rx-7-come-w-options-standard-features-642372/

Some of the brochure pages are temporarily unavailable (I'm working on getting new copies), but the manual '87/'88 GXL & '88 GTU had 4.1 LSDs. I have one in my car. Automatics received 3.9 LSDs. For S5s, nothing had LSDs except TIIs and the GTUs

Thanks rotaryrocket for clearing that up for me. I was always told the 88 gtu had the 4.3 lsd. I almost bought one for my gxl. My car didn't want to run the day I was suppose to pick it up. It sold the next day. Glad I saved my money lol

I had an 88 GTU and it definitely did not have a 4.3 . The 88 GTU is basically T2 suspension with GXL driveline (n/a LSD, 4 pot brakes)
