I am looking at an 87 with a new motor, will start but does not idle, any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated. It is a base model, and the new motor only has 6000mi on it. Any links to sites that may help would be sweet too.

 

1st. Make sure TPS is set (1.0v after car is warmed up and turned off)

2nd. change plugs

Is it a new motor? Were new parts used on it..or was it a ghetto rebuild?

 

whats a ghetto rebuild?? Used parts housings and such?? or just slapped together?

 

used parts that have noticable wear on them (ie...used housings with like .00001mm difference between good and bad)

 

It is a good motor done at a shop in our town. Have never dealt with shop before. Anyone have write up or pics on how to check TPS.
