question about HKS external wastegate
question about HKS external wastegate
HKS external wastegate on HKS log style undivided manifold for 88 Turbo II.
I'm going to be starting the car soon. I want to run at just wastegate spring pressure for now. On an external wastegate such as this there are two ports to receive pressure, an upper and a lower one. Should I leave them disconnected with no lines running to them? If so, do I need to cap off anything?
Or do I run a line from a pressure source to both ports on the wastegate, just like on a stock turbo?

Use the lower one if you just want to run off the spring pressure.
Leave the top one unused.
If you run a boost on the top fitting, the wastegate WILL NEVER OPEN.
