Question about Engine Mounts
Ok, it's not really the engine mount, but the engine mount "Boot". It normally has a thin rubberized coating on it. Mine are just bare metal with primer on it. What's the point of the rubberized coating? Should I buy new ones? Have them re-coated? What?
i'm going to bow out of this question, since I haven't yet seen an intact stock mount. The replacement harder mounts I got have a rubber puck on the bottom, and a metal top.
My first guess however, is you're fine. However, if you're concerned or have reason to believe that the mount is failing, replace it. PITA I know, but if the mount is dead, you'll love the difference.

no no no, you misunderstand. When you rake the mounts out, there's like a small... "bowl" that the bottom of ths mount rests in. I'll try and find a pic.
( I have the mazdacomp competition motor mounts )
