Question about clutch slave cylinder.

I picked up a used clutch slave cylinder and the mounting brackets are in different places then the one that came off of my car. Does it matter? And is there any easy way to fit that damn rubber boot through that hole its keeping me from finshing the job on the install. The one that came off of my car didnt have the boot on it.

So I guess after looking at some pictures in the manuel the pushrod and boot is supposed to just push against that hole.

Well it doesnt seem to fit, the mounting brackets dont line up with the bolt holes. the brackets are about 3/4 inch behind the brackets that are on the slave that came off of my car. so I guess I got a na one? any way to make it fit.

if the mounting brackets are in the wrong spot, chances are you picked up a T2 one and you have a NA car or you have a T2 and picked up a NA slave

I would say that it's 100% chance of a mix-up.

Good point. The pistons and internals are exactly the same - it's just the cylinders that are different. The only problem is that you need to make sure not to screw up the boot on the transfer, so I still think it's best to exchange for the correct part if possible.
