Currently pursuing getting one of these bad boys in excelent condition. Black, low miles etc. My question however is. This doesn't seem to be an AE, no badges or anything like that. The dash where the cd player and such has a little AE, but no symbols or anything like that. I was under the impression all TII's in 88 were AEs, aparently i'm wrong? yes? Any info would be apreciated. I did look through the FAQs and such to find the answer myself, but the info on the TIIs kinda skipped over 88, so i was at a loss. Thanks!

Well get the VIN # and check it.
If its a 88 Turbo you know right off the bat that it has been repainted because they only came in white i believe.

 

88 Turbos came in different colors, however 88 10th AE's only came in white with white molding.

My 88 T2 was silver with black molding and blue interior.

 

Gotcha, it's the original owner, and i don't think it was repainted. Okies, thanks for the Info - very much apreciated, i'll let ya know when it's mine =)

The AE on the stock stereos (found on some S4 Turbos and all S4 Verts) is from Pioneers Acoustical Equilibrium system. Pioneer built a custom sound processor (Equalizer) based on the acoustics of the Turbo and the Vert.

It should not be confused with the 10th Anniversary Edition RX-7
