Lots of people have used the Ebay/Cxracing/tacotaco pipes
if you search around the forum for "custom front mount" or something like that you will find a bunch of projects who have used them.
quality of piping is fine, pipes are hard to screw up
couplers are the only thing these kits are sketch on, people use them and they work great, others have no luck with them. Like with all ebay parts the couplers seem a shot in the dark
what is wrong with your piping?

Aluminum pipes will be lighter, but will not make any significant difference in heat exchange. Straight-wall piping has very little heat transfer, so it is usually not worth worrying about unless you are a professional racer. If you want performance, your main concern should be the bends. Try to design the system with as few bends as possible, and where you do have bends try to make them large-radius bends as opposed to tight bends. Also try to use straight couplers rather than elbow couplers.
