Putting an S5 Interior, into an S4 car.

From what i've read I will have empty spots in a couple of places, but i've also heard I need to keep the S4 headliner and A/B pillars. Is there a reason you can't use the S5 ones? Just remove the crap from inside the seatbelt track and use it for mounting? If possible i'd like to just have to make a hole to mount the S4 seatbelt and for it to go back in the retractor. Then just have to dye the S4 Seatbelt. Where would I have metal showing through?

"Empty spot" does not describe the gap you will get using the S5 A pillars. Its gigantic, and gives everyone a great view of the unibody everytime you open the door, and if the tracks aren't in there, they flutter. The S5 headliner is also not as wide as the S4 transversely, so it doesn't tuck under the S4 pillars if you use them.

You are gonna have to completely hack up the B pillars to do this. The S5 parts don't have enough space to properly clear the retracting mechanism for the S4 belts, as well as not having the hole in the upper portion of it for the upper mount.

Where would I have metal showing through?
You also will have a bit of metal exposed where the lap belt mounts to the door sill on the other side on the tranny tunnel.

I used the S4 pillars on mine, but its a track car so I don't really care that they don't quite match the rest of the black. You may well be less lazy than me and make it work though.

Personally,I'd use the s4 belts,as the s5's are Prone to Packing up..they Stick. Now as far as the pillars..if you use the S4 A pillars, you need the Seatbelts, and associated hardware, and the back Trim,as the Seatbelt comes out of the hole there..The Hole for the belt, where it attaches on the car should,by rights be there,as they never like to switch "Dies" out on the machine..just punch up new frames!..the S5's had the Belts In the A pillars,so there would be a gap there. That is why I am saying go with the S4 Pillar Plastics..

metal will show if you use the s5 headliner and a/b pillars. so that is what you'll need to dye from your S4. Otherwise everything else is a direct swap.

What about converting an S5 to use S4 seatbelts? I am guessing i will, again, need an S4 headliner, as well as the a pillars, seatbelts, and some other stuff?

I definately am not using shitty S5 seatbelts. I just would prefer to use all S5 pieces. I am figuring it would be easier to dye the S4 parts than to make a spacer to fit in where the automatic seatbelt track would go? Or could i get a sawzall and gut it up to make the original track fit in there? I really have no problem with that.

You could always try to find Canadian S5 interior pieces, our S5's didn't have the automatic seatbelts, so it should be a direct/fitting swap.
